How to repair your M2037

Since there is no warranty and we do not accept returns on this item, we have put together this detailed pictorial to show our customers how to repair their broken M2037 rifles.  The manufacturer has included an extra drive gear in each and every box.  Below you will learn how you can remove your stripped drive gear and replace it with the extra gear, not to mention learn some valuable information to help you prolong the life of your M2037 rifle.

Step 1: First thing is to make sure the gun is not loaded and not in a cocked firing mode, in other words detach the magazine and dry fire the gun. Start by sliding off the rear stock, and remove the make believe cocking handle at the rear of the gun. It snaps into place, once removed slide off the carry handle and remove the one main screw for the laser and detach from its mount by sliding it forward. Now you are ready to remove all of the screws that hold the gun shell together.

Step 2: Once you have all the screws out, carefully lay the gun on its side with the barrel pointing to your right and crack open the gun shell. Inside you will see an enclosed gear box .

Step 3: Proceed to remove all of the screws and crack open the gearbox leaving the other half inside of the gun shell. Be careful to not let the bolt spring shoot out the rear of the gun, make sure the gun has been fired, that will relieve the tension on the bolt spring.

Step 4: Remove the motor by sliding it out of its enclosure you may have to pry it out with a small screw driver. Remove the two white gears so you can get to the drive gear.

Step 5: Replace worn out gear with the new one put the motor back in its bracket then proceed to put back the white gears in place, make sure you line up the bolt slide to the rail of the gear box and make sure the bolt spring is secure in its bracket.

Step 6: Put the screws back in the gear box but do not tighten them down. Once you have all the screws ready for securing the gear box, tighten down the screws. But do not over tighten the screws. Tighten down the screws when it just makes contact to stopping; go all the way around the gear box and lightly tighten down all of the screws in this manner. The round headed screw may need only one turn counter clockwise.

Step 7: Now get the other half of the rifle shell and start putting the two together, grab the carry handle and slide it on the rifle this will hold it together while you test out the action of the gun. Once you’re done you can test the slide action of the gun by manually cocking back the bolt and firing the gun to make sure it is working properly there should be no binding or grinding noises. Use some empty casing’s load up about three to four rounds and see if it loads fires and ejects the shells, sometimes if you over tighten the screws it will jam the bolt on the gun. If this occurs go around the housing with a screw driver and start loosing screws closest to the bolt. When you get it all working your ready for final assembly. Now that your ready to put the gun back together use the same procedure you used on the gear box and lightly tighten the screws on the gun housing that surrounds the gear box inside.

Your rifle is now ready to fire but there are some finer points of interest when using this delicate toy.

  • Make sure the battery is always charged and the gun is in firing mode (cocked).  That way, when you pick up the gun it does not engage the bolt.
  • When not in use keep your magazines loaded, but not in the gun.  Always keep your loaded magazines in a safe place to avoid loosing your bullets.
  • Never let the motor cock the bolt back upon first firing the gun.  Manually pull back the bolt to champer the bullet casing inside the barrel.
  • Always have your hand on the button when firing, never let go until you are completely out of ammo (your magazine is empty).
  • Repeat loading procedure; snap in magazine, pull back bolt to load, keep your finger on the button and fire.

We have fired over 100 rounds with this gun without complications.  You could have the same results by following the above procedures.  Have fun and always remember to wear protective eyewear.
